born in 1975 in Jiangxi Province, He graduated in Ceramic Design from the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, China in 1996 and Post Graduated in Art History, from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, China in 2000.

He was selected to participate in the International Arts creation program of the Beijing Shangyuan Art Museum in 2007.

He participated in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd 'Red Earth' Contemporary Art Literature Exhibition in 2009, 2010 and 2010 respectively. The 6th China International Exhibition, Songzhuang Art Festival, Jiangxi, 2010 and the 1st Jiangxi festival of Arts and Culture Exhibition 2011.

Zhang was a Visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin and at the University of Minnesota, U.S.A. in 2010.

His works are in many public and private collections in China, India and the U.S.A.
