One of the Foundation’s principal insight, is the dissemination of knowledge, in the great guru shiksha tradition of India: to accord empirical education, in the refinement of the elected art form, in theory and practice, direct and personal from distinguished preceptors in their respective disciplines to the earnest and enquiring scholar.

The first outreach program in education of The Vice~Versa Foundation was the Woodcut Workshop for advanced art students from across India, it was conducted by eminent artist and print-maker Walter D'souza, from the 22nd to 28th of February 2012 at one of the Foundation’s studio facilities in Goa. Ten students from the final year under-graduate Bachelor’s and post-graduate Master’s Program had been selected from 26 fine art colleges and art institutions across India to participate in the 7-day workshop in woodcut technique.

Ten student scholars were selected byt he jury constituting of eminent national printmakers Walter D’souza, R.M. Palaniappan and Anupam Sud selected the above candidates from the 156 applications received. A art exhibition of the produced woodcut prints at the workshop was held on the 28th February at the Kala Academy, Art Gallery on the 28th and 29th February 2012.

The second outreach program in education of the Vice~Versa Foundation was the Sculpture Workshop in wood carving for advanced art students from across India, conducted by eminent artist and sculptor Karl Antao, from the 25th September to 5th of October 2012 at one of the Foundation’s studio facilities in Goa. Ten students from the final year under-graduate Bachelor’s and post-graduate Master’s Program had been selected from 27 fine art colleges and art institutions across India to participate in the 10-day workshop in wood sculpting and carving technique.

Ten students were selected by a jury of eminent national sculptors and educators Karl Antao, Alex Mathew and Shanti Swaroopani selected the above candidates from the 71 applications received from 27 Art Colleges across India. An art exhibition of the produced sculptures and drawings at the workshop was held on the 5th October at the Foundation’s Studio at Colvale.

The Vice~Versa Foundation endeavours through these established workshops , to broaden the study and exploration in the visual arts through the outreach programs. Illuminated by the designated exponents in their respective fields, through their fecund knowledge and boundless experience, conferring it on the initiated.
